History behind the Black Flag

During the American Civil War the black flag was flown in opposition to the white flag, which symbolizes “surrender.”

This black flag means we will not give or accept “quarter.”  In this case, the term “quarter” indicates “waiver from being executed immediately.” Therefore, anyone hearing that there’s no quarter instantly knew that there was no mercy.

Our Story…

Black Flag Coffee was started out of a love for all things coffee. We are a husband and wife owned business that has a great appreciation for small batch roasters and have sampled countless beans from across the country. In 2021, we decided to finally jump into the coffee roasting world as we felt a need to be self-sufficient financially due to the current climate of the world. We had talked about starting our own coffee shop or mobile coffee truck / trailer (which may also be in the works) for the last several years and just never pulled the trigger. Now we are all in. The passion we have for developing unique coffee flavors and roasts as well as providing a top-notch coffee experience, is one we will stand behind until the end. We will not waiver in our commitment to our customers and hope that you will join us in our endeavors to create great products that can be enjoyed by all. We will give no quarter!

Jeremy

Jeremy is a Critical Care Flight Nurse with a passion for all things coffee. Coffee has been a staple in Jeremy’s life due to his wildly irregular work schedule and needing to be able to perform at the highest level at all hours of the day. When he is not providing critical care to the sickest of sick patients, teaching EMS, Nurses, LEO’s, or prepared citizens, he is working on the perfect coffee roast or enjoying a Black Flag Coffee on the back patio with Glynnis and their three children.

Glynnis

Glynnis is a realtor also with a passion for all things coffee. Glynnis has an affinity for creating homemade syrups and custom latte flavors as well as the best sourdough bread in the world (Jeremy can attest to this). When she is not selling people their dream homes, she is a loving mother to their 3 children ages 9, 5, and 4. Obviously to compete with these levels of relentless child energy she relies on several cups of world class Black Flag Coffee.
